Jon started learning the piano under the Suzuki method at the age of 4.  He was a founding member of soul band Anonymous Rhinoceros in Hobart in the early ‘90s which became an established act in the Hobart pub rock scene.  In 1996, Jon moved to Hong Kong and played in soft rock band Touch, jazz band Subito and soul band After Hours.  He later played in a jazz ensemble during a one year stay in Bath, England.  He is currently a keyboardist for local soul and R&B band Smooth Grooves.

In 1999, Jon won best lyrics for an original composition at the Sony Records Hong Kong Gold Coast Band Competition.  Following that, he was awarded Best keyboardist at the Yamaha Asian Beat Band Competition Hong Kong in 2000 and 2001.

A civil engineer by trade, Jon specialises in geotechnical engineering and designs deep excavations for skyscraper basements, subway train stations and reclamation projects.  In 2006, his design to excavate an old 200 km seawall to make way for the Sands Casino Marina Bay reclamation in Singapore won him the Ground Engineering International Project of the year.

Jon now calls Lennox Head home and plays a soulful blend of jazz, blues, funk and pop.
