‘Rarely do you find anyone who builds from the dust and grit of real life, songs of such power and poignancy – Dan Hannaford is one who does, a true talent, make no mistake’ – Rhythms Magazine
‘A rock-solid slab of dusty country and ragged-edged blues, as honest as the day is long, twice as real and raw’ – Sydney Morning Herald 2015
Dan Hannaford has opened tour shows for the likes of Grammy award winning bluesman Charlie Musselwhite, Donavon Frankenreiter and The Black Sorrows. He is busy gracing hundreds of stages around Australia including showcasing his talent at Byron Bay Bluesfest, Falls Festival, National Folk Festival and the Gympie Muster.
Dan recently travelled overseas to Los Angeles to record his brand new 2015 album ‘I Cried Bullets’. A record tinged with a who’s who of seasoned session players, some who have played and recorded with the likes of Cat Stevens, Keith Richards, Lucinda Williams, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Beck to name but a few.
Not bad for Byron Bay’s local lad who’s country-tinged, blues-laced, rock ‘n’ roll is the likes of which are few and far between in Australia’s current music scene.
