After extensive touring of the UK over the last few years, eclectic Tasmanian pop singer Simon Astley has returned home to release his new album, including the recent singles Dream is Here & Blue Eyes, produced by Sam Panetta (Kylie Minogue, Crowded House).
Astley had recent success with his hit song London played as part of the Queens Diamond Jubilee outside Buckingham Palace in the UK. Due to the response the London song received, including over 225,000 views on youtube, Astley toured the UK again playing shows around the country, including the famous Troubadour music venue in London. Astley was approached and signed by UK record label Gotham Records whilst on tour, before heading back to Australia.
Astley toured the USA following his overseas success, and whilst in New York recorded his USA only released single Miracles Begun, with award winning producer Ray Balconis. On his return home he was lucky enough to land two big TV Ads, an ad for popular USA chain Oogies Popcorn followed by an ad as the face of Carlton Draught on Australian TV. Astley’s latest apperances on TV, which also include two performances on the Marngrook Footy Show, have seen Astley gain more media attention in Australia, helping to boost him to a household name. Astley has recently toured the UK appearing on TV – The Late Show with Monica Price.
Astley is currently on his Australian National Tour in 2017.
