Monkey & The Fish
Singer songwriters Chris Fisher and Marcelle Townsend–Cross, AKA ‘Monkey & the Fish’, create a special vocal harmony & presence. Their songs tell personal and universal stories woven through milk and honey melodies and upbeat contemporary folk & roots tunes.
Engaging and evocative lyrics resonate themes of love and respect for family & the natural world and connect with audiences.
Live sets draw on material from five studio albums, including their latest release ‘A Place Of Hope’, which won NCEIA Dolphin Awards for ‘Album Of The Year’ and ‘Production’ in 2017.
Interpretations of songs by Crowded House, John Mayer, Paul Kelly, Tracey Chapman, Neil Young and other classics are also performed, with sets ‘tailored’ to suit the venue.
Music arrangements include guitar, ‘stomp box’, harmonica and percussion. ‘Loop’ technology is also utilised making for a full and dynamic sound.
Monkey & the Fish are based on the Nth Coast of NSW and in their 15 years of collaboration have received many accolades. For recorded work they have won a total of 11 Dolphin Awards. Performance highlights include several Woodford Folk Festival gigs and a UK tour.
Excellent guitar work and vocals with eclectic influences and magic song craft combine in an entertaining and uplifting performance.”
